CalebBreakey.com Coming to a Close

It’s been a year and a day since calebbreakey.com hit the web. I’ve loved our dialogue, encouragement, and shared passion to get better at this craft of writing. It’s been a crazy 12 months.

Now, life’s throwing me some curveballs and I’m learning to adjust. While mentoring young writers will remain a priority at writers conferences, it will no longer take place at calebbreakey.com.

As most of you know, I’m pretty much obsessed with the faith, hope, and love that Jesus lived. And that obsession is moving me to think and write much about those topics. It’s my new direction. My new life’s mission.

Thank you so much to the teen writers who’ve made calebbreakey.com possible. Thank you to all the Breakians who’ve been with me every step of the way, making the site better, putting time and effort into encouraging comments, improving your craft, and building this community. It’s your passion and drive to write and write well that’s made this so fun.

I’m going to miss seeing your brilliant words and excellent attitudes. But I trust that the encouragement, passion, and skills that have been a constant pulse here will continue with you in your creative journey.

Please keep in touch. Let me know what’s happening in your writing life. Share your stories with me. You all are like family.

So to all you Rockstars, I part with a smile. Go make a difference with your writing. With your life. Today is the day.

Write on. Rock on.

Whaaat?  Was I supposed to see this coming?  I’m almost confused but…

Greatest luck to you, Caleb.  We all appreciate what you’ve done for us here at calebbreakey.com and it has given us (or me, at least) some  really great opportunities.  God bless you on all your future endeavors!

Wow Caleb, I had no idea you were closing the site.  However, I’m glad for your reasons:)  I think that’s great that you’ve found new topics to write about, and I’m glad to hear you’ll be going onto something new.  What you’ve done on this site none of us will ever forget.  Thank you so much for everything you’ve done, Caleb.

I’ll let you know what happens with the publisher:D

I must say I wish I had found this site sooner, and I am quite sad to see it go. I shall miss it indeed. Nevertheless, I wish you the best of luck in your new direction and endeavors. Thank you for everything you have done here. The resources you have provided and just reading work from other teenagers and listening to your critique and encouragement for them has greatly helped to improve and inspire my writing. So, again, thank you very much.

Hey Caleb, I understand your heart for encouraging young people to write.  I am sorry to see that this will be going away, but I also understand your need to pursue God’s calling.  May He bless your endeavors and give you clear guidance.  I have an interest in encouraging people to write about their experience with sudden death.  When a loved one dies in a car wreck for example, it is natural to wonder how God, who loves us, could allow something so brutal to happen.  I want to encourage people to share and explore these feelings on my blog.  Writing, as you know, can be a cathartic experience.  I am simply trying to establish a safe place for expression about a sensitive and troubling topic.  As a Christian, I hope to be able to steer the dialogue toward the only one who can give the right answers, Jesus Christ.  I can see from your site that you have been very successful in reaching many people.  Would you have any advice for me?

God bless you in your new path! This site has helped me see that I am not alone. I am greatly appreciative of your mission with this site and I am so very sad to see it go, it was such a great idea!

Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement, my fellow writers and friends! This past year has rocked. And it’s not because of the writing. It’s because of you.

@82fbd1ad4efe47eee18f8bf2ee53329f:disqus  I think the biggest thing is always coming back to the “why” of what your site is about: Because hurting people need love. That’s the best way to reach. Don’t worry too much about how you do things; just keep coming back to why you’re doing it.

All the best this summer, Rockstars!

Thank you, Caleb, for all you’ve done on this website.  I must say I was shocked when I got on this page, but I’m glad that you’ve found a new mission.  God bless you, Caleb, and thanks for encouraging me on my writing.
